Who We Serve

1

Children

Individuals under the age of 18 and their families. We pride ourselves on our play-based therapy services that incorporate children's' special interests and strengths. We aim to empower families and foster organic language learning opportunities. Our SLPs have experience with a variety of needs secondary to diagnoses such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Developmental Delay, late talkers, as well as specializing in bilingual language development.

2

Adults

Individuals over the age of 18.  We are committed to helping individuals regain their independence by providing high-quality and evidence-based therapies for adults experiencing language, speech, voice, or cognitive challenges that result from stroke, dementia, brain injuries, or progressive neurological disorder, such as Parkinson’s disease.

TREATMENTS

Speech

Disorders of speech can encompass errors in articulation, phonology, motor planning and sequencing, creating lowered ability to be clearly understood. Examples include:

  • Trouble with specific speech sounds like "R"

  • Consistently mixing up sounds like saying "tat" for cat.

Language

Language disorders can include difficulty understanding and following instructions, combining words into phrases, the ability to effectively communicate wants/needs, or any other difficulty expressing yourself. Examples of language difficulty:

  • Late talking toddler

  • Difficulty communicating following a stroke

Voice

There are many ways our voices can be injured, especially for individuals that use their voice professionally (teachers, singers, pastors, etc.) Injury can be acquired (due to mis- or over-use) or organic in nature (secondary to diagnoses such as Parkinson's.) Voice therapy aims to enhance communication in order to get you back to your most natural and healthy voice.

Other Domains of Communication

Other examples of communication skills that can be targeted during speech therapy:

  • Bilingual language development

  • Stuttering

  • Use of Augmentative and Assistive Technology (AAC)

  • Chronic cough/Upper Airway disorders

  • Cognition and Executive Functioning
